spit, mixed with dirt – muddy words flow
Every day I read the words you write. I can see what’s underneath the tattered pages and blotted ink. There are such deep layers to you. You are a glacier.
Deep cracks and crevices, some dangerous, some divine, all beautiful. They allow one to focus deep into the essence of you, if one dares risk the danger.
You move across the landscape changing it forever. Your words forever altering space and time and the hearts of those who perceive you.
Made of layers of years of snow and ice and sediment and dust and everything else trapped inside and every once in a while you let us see what’s inside. So, too, we gaze upon layers of hurt and jealousy and lust and longing and love and surprise and joy and loneliness and every other factor that makes you, You.
Cautiously, you may be traversed. Though one must tread with care, that one does not further damage or destroy, nor fall deep within one of your many deep crevasses, becoming ultimately lost in you.
From afar you can always be admired but it is up close that we see the real you. All those folds and lines of black and white made clearer with each advancing step.
You are a marvel of nature and you are:
To be feared.
To be cherished.
To be admired.
To be taken in and made a part of.
Incredibly unique.
Making the world a better place.
As such, you, the mighty glacier, powerful and life-changing, I ask of you only a few requests:
Feed me lines of you.
Crush me under your weight.
Grind me down.
Make me someone new.
Pull back your awesome power and let me rise again, reborn.

Wow. That was a powerful read and love the descriptive imagery. Especially the last several lines. It’s always nice when others can inspire our words.
