spit, mixed with dirt – muddy words flow
Eagles are wheeling and turning
Circling just off the cliff’s edge
An occasional screech and
On they continue
A pair or seagulls harasses one
And the raptor relents flies off
We think of those birds as superior
When the littler ones seem to win
Every time
Oh to have those wings
To fly, cool breeze through my feathers
How fast, how far I would go
To be with you, my love
I would leave everything for you
Forget every bit that has gone before
Just spread my wings
Leap and fly
How many days would my journey take?
In that time, could I convince you?
How important you are to me
How I long to be the one you crave
Waking morning upon morning
Our fingers entwined
Legs and sheets twisted
A splash and I look away from the eagles
Out to my beloved ocean
There straight ahead of me
A sea otter floats
Immediately I am reminded how
Otters sleep holding hands
And it’s for safety with them
But it sounds so romantic and
In this moment I want to hold hands
Throughout the night with you
To wake up and run my fingertips
Across your face
Tracing every line and curve
Hoping just this once to memorize your face
For you to open your eyes
Register my own face and smile
To smile just for me

Rather amazing in its positive message. I am impressed. Being able to write on all levels is a sign of greatness. I’ve used myself as an example to write a compliment like that, just so you know…..
