This Is About You

Tears flow
Down my cheeks
I don’t even try to stop them
Missed connections
Wrong time
Wrong place
Across the miles
My heart gazes
Longingly, foolishly, hopefully

Damn you, heart!
Come back to reality!
No matter how hard you wish
Nor how strong your longing:
What is, is
Pick up, move along
Turn aside
Don’t look back!
Hey! I said don’t look back!
You can’t go where you aren’t wanted
Heartache!
Misery!

Are you even listening to me?
…Come back…please…
Don’t leave me here, Heart,
Alone with just my thoughts
…I need you

    • Riiight. Did you even read this one?? I *almost* deleted it and sent it to the netherworld where it belongs. But for some unknown reason clicked publish instead. And PS: I like finger painting in nature.

      • I most certainly did. It’s great. Remember the rule.

I don’t paint well. Tried. Considered cutting off an ear and going insane in the country. Not enough talent though.

        • Okay. Shit, yeah, you’re right! oops!
What I meant to say was: why thank you kind sir for your generous compliment.

I am mediocre at painting. I still do it.

    by love and deed unspoken.
