spit, mixed with dirt – muddy words flow
I love him
Though I shouldn’t
I love him
Though he wonders why
I love him
Though he doesn’t return it
I love him
Though we are far apart
I love him
Though it doesn’t make sense
I love him
Though it breaks my heart
I love him
Though he holds another
I love him
Though he may never be mine
I love him
To the day I die

Yep. It sure is peculiar how this love thing works. Great post, Tara.

Thanks! Yeah, it sure throws one for a loop. Darn inconvenient at times. And yet…. and yet it’s still a glorious, marvelous thing.

The unrequited. Such a cruel twist that life serves up every so often. Beautifully expressed, Tara!

Thanks so much Rob! Yeah… it is cruel but it’s better to experience love than not at all, right?!

‘Tis better to love and lost, indeed!

This love thing sounds overrated… I suggest putting it in a box… and burying out in the back yard. Deep. (so the bears don’t get it)

Is that what worked for you?? lol

Yeah… with some modifications. We don’t have bears.

Well that’s a relief!

I also suggest smacking it at least once more than you think is necessary. Just to make sure its completely dead.

I do carry a very big knife, so perhaps eviscerating it would help.

Messy. But in my experience perforating something enough times is both effective stress relief and very efficient.

Yes! You understand my point, then! Perfect.

Yeah. I carry the Spyderco byrd Crossbill. The one thing I wish it had was the pinky loop like on yours that is similar. Feels good in the hand, though. Like you said, good at creating space.

Ha! Sci-fi geek and knife nerd. Who would have thought?

Oh, I’m complicated, most assuredly.

Complicated… in my experience.. also means not boring 😉

Ehhh… depends on your definition of boring. I mean, I’m quite boring in many aspects but not so much in others.

I take your point. I suppose boring is quite subjective.

It is. I describe myself as ‘boring but I like it that way’. 🙂

Joey is currently describing himself as un-caffeinated. Something he needs to remedy soon.

Each and every reason is the definition of “WHY LOVE”. Great post.

I agree! Even when it’s tough or a cruel injustice… we still love! It’s a wonderful thing.

To love. There is nothing quite like it – and even though it may crash and burn, or never come to fruition, that it is actually THERE helps immensely. Always.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, Spiral.

Thanks Mark. I’ve done a few repetition poems. Sometimes they work for me. 😉 I’m glad you liked it.

I think yours are the only ones that I like, think it’s because I like the canvas you paint them on.

Thanks Mark. Wow. Really, that makes my heart happy.

Some people. It’s sort of cliche to say but love really is a mysterious thing. Or the idea of love maybe.

I agree. Love is a mystery. I was told by a friend earlier today to “stop trying to understand love using logic; just knock that shit off.” lol – possibly easier said than done, in my case at least.
