Wandering Silence

this hurts because suddenly
in a moment of clarity
I realized that
while you are my person…

the perfect match for me
the only one I want for the rest of my days
the one who fulfills and completes me
the one who lifts me up and
helps me step outside myself
the one who stretches my mind and
makes me laugh like no other
the one who lets me say,
‘I’m done looking,
you’re it for me’

…the fact of the matter is
I’m not that one for you
I will never be what you need

and the moment I came to this
soul-crunching
heart-rending realization
part of me nearly burst inside

my heart is literally burning
in my chest

I set my pen to paper
but all that pours out is
wandering silence

I’ve told how I love you and now
things that were set in motion
are now set in stone

there’s no going back
there’s no going forward

it’s just me and my worthless words
and the night sky
stretching out to forever

Thanks Spirit. Here’s #mygifttoyou

You write the earthy elemental things, the lovely heart things, so beautifully. I wish, as I read your pretty poems, that I could write in such a way myself. I guess you could say, I’m a smidge jealous. ~tara

  1. Indeed, sometimes you feel that he is the one for you, but from his point of view, you are not the one for him. Love the way you express your thoughts. Hope to see more from you. Have hope, write on! ❤️❤️❤️
