spit, mixed with dirt – muddy words flow
When I’m empty you’re full
When you’re off I’m on
When I’m down you’re up
When you’re awake I’m asleep
When I’m ready you’re unavailable
When you’re happy I’m blue
When I’m sour you’re sweet
When you’re waiting I’m in a rush
When I’m quiet you’re everywhere
Still
There’s no one I’d rather have
Fill all the empty places in me

Opposites attract.

It’s interesting you say that because though I’ve heard that saying before, I have found that I am far more attracted to same than opposite. Perhaps it’s my personality? I’m not sure. But when there are too many differences, I can’t make my way around the lack of common ground. I mean… we don’t have to be completely the same. But for me there needs to be a pretty good basis of sameness… if that makes sense.

I understand the saying, though for me personally I don’t agree. I tend to be most attracted to those more similar in mind to me. For me, there’s got to be common ground. But that’s me.

The idea of Yin and Yang isn’t that they are forces in complete opposition that repel one another absolutely: the idea is that they are compatible. That they are in opposition doesn’t mean they don’t have aspects of one another in themselves. With regards to your verse, although the oppositions pop out, there is implied harmony even in that – one references / defines the other and vice versa. This is harmony.
Genius as always.

I didn’t think it was too brief at all.
