Spiraling Memories – Collaboration

twin thoughts and memories slipped down like drops of rain through the branches of my mind when I opened my mouth they dripped on my outstretched tongue and I tasted you

my tongue on your skin scraping off the last layers of us to swallow down the final vestiges of the warmth, now fading away, leaving behind just the phantom aftertaste of you

surely if I were to squeeze my eyes tightly closed I would remember your full flavor the sun resting lightly upon your skin and the glitter in your eye as you watched in awe the clouds floating overhead

but as I remember the shape of your skull resting in the palm of my hand I feel the grave dust and damp sweat clinging to your lovely brittle bones that when wrapped around me felt like home and the only grave I ever wanted to be buried in

  1. From the depths of memory, I sense the joy of a beautiful moment from yore. You are able to keep the fire going long after the embers have cooled. Love it.
