spit, mixed with dirt – muddy words flow
Laying here thinking about you
Open my eyes
There you are before me
Is this a dream?
I never want to wake up
Your eyes look straight into mine
Brown in brown, earthy, perfect
A slight smile
Is that love I see reflected back?
Your hand reaches out
Pushes a lock of hair from my face
Strokes down my cheek
Tears swell unrehearsed
god you are so beautiful
Your thumb caresses my lip
Your gaze moves to my mouth
My tongue traces my inner lip
Back to my own blue eyes
Drawn, trapped within
I see more, deep inside
Lust and passion
Desire
Hope
….Love?
I close my eyes to the intensity
That I have for you
Hearing your voice
My name on your lips
Reaching out
I open them again
You fade away
And the sheets remain cold
A sigh escapes
My tears glisten and tremble
Tell me you see me
Tell me you felt it too

A nice poem of longing. I especially liked how you worded the part about you wondering if it’s love.
