In the Woods

I don’t know what these are, but I saw them on trees in the city. They smelled wonderful.

Big old birch.

Teeny-tiny.

Ferns in an alder patch.

Old stumps make the best micro-ecosystems.

Spruce cones in the making.

  Last night I had four bald eagles squabbling over what I assume were moose guts in the trees right next to my house. I’m hoping a few of the shots turned out so I can share them with you!
