Spit mixed with dirt – Muddy words flow
Oh fool! Fool!
What a foolish girl!
Follow your heart
And be fooled!
Tear out the roots!
Cast down the cost!
Believe that love
Can carry you through,
Oh what a fool!
It never changes,
Does it?
Comes the whisper
So painfully clear.
It never, ever changes.
You will
Never
Be good enough.
You will never
Be enough.
The same foolish thoughts
From the same foolish heart,
You say.
… .. .
And still.
This ache deepens.
Longing to be soothed,
For once,
In peace.
Foolish heart. Foolish hopes.
Foolish dreams.
Foolish girl.

So easy it is to feel
the one not enough
following old habit
when perhaps
another is the real
fool

I’ve been feeling pretty rejected in a lot of aspects lately. Some rejections hit harder than others, depending on how involved my heart is/was.

The heart certainly does take it’s own measure of the weight of each such thing. Then, the mind turns it into poetry, and yours does that very well. I hope nobody is fool enough to reject that. As for the more personal kind, all I can do is send a virtual hug.

Phew.
Not always easy to rise beyond the actions and thoughts of others.
Are they not the fools, though, in their rejections?

I think it depends on perspective. My self-esteem is too low to agree with you, though intellectually, I know I should.

I understand completely, Tara. Take care.

Not a foolish girl at all – I would say.
