Spit mixed with dirt – Muddy words flow
you reach deep
wanting to feel good
wanting to feel
something
you bury yourself
in desire
in speculation and metaphysics
in coming times
in what once was
in a grief never formed
and because of this
you lasso others
without intending to
without realizing it
and they, too, become the reach
the reach for
for
for something more
and I, I hold on
confused and
unable to form words
willing thoughts from
my great void
and
what has become
of the idea
of us

This has a very slipstream quality to it, Tara. Wonderfully written. 💙
Hope all is well and the weather hasn’t too weird around your neck of the region.

Thank you. Just trying to wrap my head around things and figure it out. I was crying by the frozen river and the words seemed to present themselves.
In terms of weather. It’s been pretty great. We’ve got a fair bit of snow (which my neighbors are blaming on me!) but then this wind showed up and is melting it off 😭. I’ve been telling people every wooly bear I saw this autumn predicted a harsh beginning to winter and a mild ending. Wooly bear don’t lie! lol But, yeah, so far I’m loving it. It’s gorgeous and I took a walk in -20* (brisk!) which felt great. I walked barefoot in some fresh snow a few times, which is always so refreshing and invigorating. I imagine when the real cold shows up, I’ll be hibernating.

Come February… It can get quite cold with the wind. 🥶
I take out the trash barefoot, so I know what you mean with invigorating. My family thinks I’m more than a little weird.
Glad to hear you’re getting settled in. ❤️
